When individual marking is required, the mark shall be the grade letter symbol on one face of the nut. ASTM A563 Gr A heavy hex nuts can be made with single chamfer or double chamfer according to customers’ preference. Threads of ASTM A563 Gr A heavy hex nuts shall conform
to the dimensions for coarse threads with Class 2 B tolerances prescribed in ANSI B1.1. But if the finish is hot dip galvanized (HDG), threads shall be usually oversized according to A 153/A 153M, Class C in Table 5.
